Our Arts Festival’s origins were 19 years ago as a small, one day book festival which was very successful. Then, after the first two years, other arts organisations requested to take part. The festival then grew to last over a weekend and now it has grown to be a multi week programme.
We aim to offer a varied and inclusive programme of arts for all ages. Not only do we invite some well-known artists to come and share with us their talent and experience, we recognise the huge artistic talent within our community and the Festival strives to showcase these members of our village. Over the last two years we have introduced workshops and come and try events to encourage people to engage with different forms of the arts. This year we will be expanding on this.
Lochwinnoch arts festival is in its 20th year and we will continue to support the arts in this difficult time. We will be delivering live events that will be safe and follow Covid guidelines when this is safe and the authorities give us permission. In addition, we will continue to deliver Online art experiences while social distancing is still required our most recent online collaboration is with the Paisley Food Festival We plan family and older adult films with Regional Screen Scotland and music as our future live events across 2021 and into 2022. We also will be delivering outdoor art experiences in collaboration with Cultural Services, Renfrewshire Leisure In addition, following the successful winter window December 2020 decoration in the village we plan to make this a larger event in 2021.
