The Rose Room
Current ‘Best Band’ winners at the Scottish Jazz Awards, Glasgow-based Rose Room are Scotland’s leading ensemble influenced by ‘Hot Club’ Swing. Led by virtuoso violinist, two-time Scottish Jazz Award-winning vocalist and BBC broadcaster Seonaid Aitken, the band also features Scotland’s No.1 guitar maker Jimmy Moon on double bass with Danny Kyle Award-winning Tam Gallagher on rhythm guitar. The new addition to the band, and kicking off Rose Room’s second decade in style, is an exceptional talent from Glasgow’s Southside; solo guitarist Conor Smith. Expect the effervescent sound of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli as they serve up a mix of 1930s standards, original music and Gyspy Jazz favourites with their signature flair and fireworks!
Juniper Three
Formed in 2019, Juniper Three are Outi Smith, Laura Hill and Aimee Penman: three highly experienced and creative vocalists each bringing their own unique styles and influences and together creating and performing mellifluous new arrangements of their favourite songs from jazz standards to pop classics.Outi Smith is a Finnish-bornsinger, pianist, vocal tutor,and musical director now living in Lochwinnoch. She began her musical journey as a classical pianist, but after exploring various genres from folk to rock and pop, her heart found a home in jazz. Refusing to being pigeonholed, as a songwriterand arranger.
Outi draws on her classical and jazz experience whileinterweaving a myriad offurtherinfluences.She currently performs as a soloistand in ajazz duo.
Laura Hill is a vocalist, songwriter, voice coach and choir leader based in Renfrewshire. She grew up singing in her dad’s Irish folk band and listening to her mum’s soulful record collection, and these influences can be heard in her vocal song writing. In addition to being a member of Juniper Three, she currently lends her vocals to The Jazz Pack and The Scottish Pink Floyd.
Aimee Penman is a singer, songwriter, vocal coach, andchoir and community music leader who has returned to her roots in Ayrshire after living and performing in Edinburgh, London, on cruise ships and abroad.With years of experience as a soloist and in various original and covers bands and choirs, Aimee has performed and recorded with artists including Imogen Heap, Charlotte Church and Laura Mvula. Currently working on herE.P, Aimee’s compositions are influenced by her classical training and eclectic taste in pop, jazz, alternative and folk music.

Moira is back in 2022!
Well, it has been a while since my rip-roaring ‘one-woman shows’ The Moira Monologues and its award-winning sequel, More Moira Monologues. Pre-pandemic, in fact. But it’s time to slip back into Moira’s high-heeled boots for some upcoming performances of the hardest woman in Falkirk.

Ecdysis is a pilgrimage through the landscape in music and costume. It is a project that takes inspiration from the reptiles that live in the wild in the UK.
Oceanallover are making a series of costumed interventions in both urban and rural locations exploring through dance and words the idea of stepping out of your own skin, at shedding to grow, at sluffing off. The music for Ecdysis is an exciting collaboration with renowned producers from the alternative music scenes in London and Bristol including Sgt Pokes, Pinch, N-Type, Silkie, Mako and Lost.

A poignant musical promenade through a series of magical soundscapes, Katie Anderson’s Sound Horn comprises six outdoor sound sculptures inspired by gramophone speakers. From choral notes to spoken word, visitors can listen to each in isolation before they combine into one deeply resonant whole from all six speakers at once. Suitable for all ages.
